A 64-year-old man convicted for a road rage attack was only required to serve two days behind bars.
Peter Anthony Clark was found guilty following a March 24 bench trial stemming from a 2024 incident on East Little Creek Road in Norfolk.
On Oct. 17, another driver attempted to turn left at a median and encountered Clark, who ran a stop sign and nearly caused a head-on collision, according to the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office.
Both drivers stopped and exchanged words before the situation escalated. Clark exited his vehicle, approached the victim, and reportedly reached through the driver’s window in an attempt to strike him. When the victim opened his door to push Clark away and stepped out of his car, Clark punched him in the face and pulled his hair—ripping some of it from his head.

Clark was first convicted in Norfolk General District Court in November 2025 before appealing to Circuit Court. After hearing the evidence, Judge Jamilah D. LeCruise sentenced Clark to 12 months in jail, suspending all but two days.
criticized the behavior that led to the conviction, emphasizing the broader public safety implications.
“Mr. Clark was in the wrong first when he ran a stop sign, but then he compounded his wrong with a bout of assaultive road rage that earned him a criminal conviction and a trip to jail,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Ramin Fatehi.
“No matter how frustrated we may get on the road — regardless of the reason — assaulting another driver is not the answer. A crime does not have to be a felony to be serious, and my colleagues and I will continue to seek appropriate justice in cases involving public safety,” Fatehi added.
