Man Wanted in Shenandoah, VA Caught Trying to Leave US
A wanted Dominican Republic man was caught attempting to leave the country and has been extradited back to Shenandoah County to face his charges.
According to Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, on April 6 an Edinburg business reported fraud. An investigation revealed that a customer placed multiple orders totaling over $43,000. After the suspects received the product, the business later discovered the purchases were fraudulent.
SCSO said 30-year-old Ricky Abreu-Gonzalez is believed to have made the purchases.
Because of the Shenandoah County charges, he attempted to fly out of the country, SCSO said. TSA caught and held him in New Jersey.
Newark NJ Street Pulse reported Abreu-Gonzalez’s date of arrest as July 11.
ICE was notified and a detainer was placed on him.
