Patrick County Calls in Armored Vehicle for Standoff With Alleged Shooter
A 72‑year‑old man allegedly shot into two homes in the middle of the night, then engaged in an hour‑long standoff in his own residence, Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith reported.
At about 3:30 a.m. on June 9, the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office received a shots‑fired call in the area of Mountain View Loop.

Both houses are located across the road from Curtis Harold McBride’s home, and the investigation provided probable cause to obtain a search warrant for his residence.
