
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police have launched a coordinated investigation after one person was killed and five others were injured during a shooting early Sunday morning.
According to Accomack Sheriff W. Todd Wessells, the Emergency Operations Center received a report of an active shooter at Par 4 Bar & Grill at approximately 1:41 a.m. Deputies and first responders arrived at the Lankford Rd. business and found multiple victims.

Five men had gunshot wounds, and another male suffered a laceration to the face.
As Emergency Medical Services personnel exited their ambulance, an individual began firing in their direction, according to Wessells. No EMS personnel were injured.
However, the suspected shooter, Skylor Dupree Crippen (who is reportedly also known as Skylor Dupree Harmon), had a gunshot wound to his foot. Deputies took Crippen into custody. He was treated for the wound, released from medical care, and has been charged with:
• Second-degree murder
• Two counts of attempted malicious wounding of EMS personnel
• Two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

One male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One man was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the arm, and another for a gunshot wound to the back.
ACSO reported that Maryland State Police Trooper 4 transported a man to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was taken into surgery.
Another unidentified man was treated for a facial laceration. Police did not elaborate on the cause or severity.
Crippen is being held at the Accomack County Jail without bond.
Par 4 Bar & Grill, a beloved local entertainment venue, announced it will be closed until further notice. The announcement prompted an outpouring of support from community members and customers for the business and its owners.
