Rowland A. Babcock, Jr., a 78-year-old Ruther Glen man died as a result of the injuries he suffered in a plane crash on July 14.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. near Shannon Airport in Spotsylvania. Babcock was alone in the single-engine plane.

A VSP investigation remains underway.
