Nurse wanted in Spotsylvania for sex offense against minor was working in Hanover

A 55-year-old nurse practitioner has been charged and arrested for inappropriately touching patients during their medical consultations.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office explained that the initial charges against Keith Allen Henry, listed as a Lewisberg, NC resident, were related to a 7-year-old patient. The child alerted her mother about the incident, which reportedly occurred on Nov. 7 at a medical clinic.

SCSO said detectives in the Child Victim Unit conducted “a lengthy investigation” and charged Henry with felony aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13.

An arrest warrant was issued but Henry couldn’t be found locally so federal assistance was requested, and he was arrested in Hanover on Nov. 28 with the assistance of Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service, explained SCSO Major Troy Skebo.

Henry was incarcerated at Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond, and while he was in custody, SCSO said a second incident was discovered. This one was reported by a 35-year-old female who accused Henry of inappropriately touching her at the same Spotsylvania medical clinic as the 7-year-old, police said.

At the conclusion of the investigation into the woman’s allegation, SCSO reported that charges were filed against Henry for misdemeanor sexual battery and attempted sexual battery.

When the U.S. Marshals found Henry last month, he was working at another doctor’s office in Hanover, said Skebo.

Henry has also previously faced similar charges in North Carolina. At the time, he was listed as a Knightdale, NC resident and was indicted for indecent liberties with a child and assault of a child under age 12, court records show. On the indecent liberties charge, he was found not guilty by jury in 2005. Wake County’s Superior Court voluntarily dismissed the associated assault charge, the court clerk’s office confirmed.

Henry has a bond appeal hearing scheduled for today, Dec. 8.
