Virginia included in beef recall. Do not eat these products, says USDA
USDA is urging shoppers who bought certain batches of ground beef to throw it away or return it to the store where it was purchased.
Cargill Meat Solutions recalled over 16,000 pounds of raw ground beef due to possible E.coli contamination.
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Cargill reported the issue claiming that “previously segregated product had been inadvertently utilized in the production of ground beef.”
The affected ground beef was produced on April 26-27 and sold at Walmart, the USDA stated.
FSIS said the items were shipped to Walmart locations nationwide.
CBS MoneyWatch said Cargill told them the meat was shipped to 13 states. In addition to Virginia, they include Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolin...
