Virginia State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 19-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting along Interstate 85. At approximately 3:47 p.m. on August 28, troopers responded to reports of a shooting on I-85 northbound near the five-mile marker in Mecklenburg. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found a Honda Civic that had gone off the right side of the road and down in a culvert. Virginia State Police are looking for a truck reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash on Norris Bridge between Lancaster and Middlesex. According to VSP, at around 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, a silver/gray truck towing a large white camper was heading westbound across the bridge toward Lancaster when it when it crossed the centerline and struck a van going in the opposite direction. A 22-year-old woman from Augusta who was wanted for murder in Nelson County was arrested Monday afternoon during a coordinated SWAT operation in Harrisonburg. USMS announce capture of triple-murder suspect in Newport News

On August 8, 2023, when Newport News Police responded to a shots fired call in the 400 block of Stallings Court, three men were found inside a residence dead. The victims were Alvin Eugene Holiday, 61, and Monroe McGilvary Jr., 60, both from Williamsburg, along with Derek Rico Jones, a 36-year-old from Newport News. Attempted murder suspect captured in Botetourt

Joseph Bray, an Eagle Rock, VA man, facing two counts of attempted murder and over a dozen other charges was taken into custody this afternoon without incident, according to Botetourt County Sheriff's Office. Earlier this week, BCSO announced they were looking for Bray whose charges stemmed from an incident that began with an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend Arieanna McDorman and led to him shooting at her mother. Botetourt deputies, Virginia State Police and the US Marshal Service Capital Area Regional Task Force "employed every available law enforcement resource to locate and capture" Bray, BCSO said. Police seeking Eagle Rock man for attempted murder & woman he allegedly assaulted

Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance locating an Eagle Rock, VA man facing a list of charges, including attempted murder, and a woman who may be with him against her will. According to BCSO, Arieanna McDorman, on March 23, a 32-year-old Clifton Forge woman, contacted her mother claiming she was in a dispute with her boyfriend.  The mother, who wasn’t named, and her partner, also unidentified, went to the location where McDorman was, a residence in the 20000 block of Botetourt Road in Eagle Rock. BCSO said when they arrived to pick up McDorman, a suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Joseph Bray Lee, of Eagle Rock, was restraining McDorman by the arm. ‘Robbie’ wanted for list of charges from Powhatan hit & run

Virginia State Police is on the hunt for Robin Lynwood Wood, Jr. who has reportedly been on the run for nearly 4 months. Also known as “Robbie," Wood is wanted for charges stemming from a serious crash in Powhatan on November 17, 2024. Wood was reportedly driving an SUV, doing 77 mph in a 55-mph zone. A Powhatan deputy attempted to stop him for speeding. VSP said Wood attempted to elude the officer and was traveling at a high rate of speed. In the midst of this getaway, he crashed into the woods and hit numerous trees. Wood was carrying three adult passengers and all sustained significant injuries that required them to be transported to Chippenham Hospital, according to VSP. But Wood left them and ran. Powhatan man wanted for hit & run

Virginia State Police identified the suspect in the May 26, 2024 hit and run in Powhatan and is asking for the public’s help to find him. The suspect, Dustin A. Bailey, is a 36-year-old Powhatan resident. According to VSP, he previously worked on Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield and in the City of Richmond. (Photo: VSP) On the day of that incident, at approximately 10:04 a.m., a 2019 Kia Forte was stopped at a red light on Rt. 60 (Anderson Highway) at the intersection with Luck Stone Rd. and was rear-ended by a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche that reportedly fled the scene. The Forte drive suffered minor injuries according to VSP.
