VSP Trooper Rammed During Chase Into Maryland

The driver accused of ramming a Virginia State Trooper during a pursuit across state lines on December 29 was identified as Naturi Michon Hayes of Elkridge, MD. Shortly before midnight a Virginia State Trooper was informed of a stolen vehicle in Alexandria. The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver’s refusal started a pursuit, according to VSP. From Route 1 the chase went to I-495 East where the initial trooper was joined by a second trooper. Early Wednesday, June 18, a Virginia State Police trooper tried to pull over a 2006 Honda Element for speeding—clocked at 78 mph in a 55 zone. But instead of stopping, the driver hit the gas. Virginia State Police are still searching for 38-year-old Victor A. Caneza who was reportedly involved in two crashes and a police chase in Fairfax on Monday before making a getaway. According to VSP, it was approximately 2:40 p.m. and troopers were working two accidents along Interstate 495 East near Eisenhower Ave when a third crash occurred involving two vehicles. A trooper assigned to the third crash asked the two vehicles to move from the left to the right shoulder as authorities attempted to consolidate all the crash scenes. 4 juveniles hospitalized after police chase ends in fiery crash

All four juveniles rescued from a burning car amid a police chase have been hospitalized, Virginia State Police announced. The chase was initiated Monday night on Van Dorn St. by Alexandria Police after an officer reportedly attempted to stop a Hyundai Elantra suspected to be stolen out of Prince George’s County, Maryland. According to Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at around 12:48 a.m. a caller reported that a black Ford Mustang was doing burnouts and speeding near the 15000 block of A.L. Philpott Hwy. Three men were arrested on Centreport Parkway after a high-speed chase that left a Stafford officer injured. Around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, First Sergeant A.I. After a hunt lasting over a day, the triple-murder suspect Alyssa Jane Venable of Spotsylvania, VA was captured in New York. A 27-year-old man arrested Saturday is still being held without bond after allegedly initiating a police chase, ramming vehicles, and assaulting a state trooper. According to Virginia State Police, the incident stemmed from motorists on I-81 calling in and reporting a Dodge pickup driving recklessly and someone throwing objects out of the window.
