VSP Searching for Leads in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Alexandria

At approximately 6:12 a.m. this morning, March 24, Virginia State Police reported getting dispatched for a pedestrian on Interstate 395.  According to VSP, when troopers arrived on the scene, a pedestrian was in the center lane of the northbound side of the interstate dead. The individual was found near the exit for Duke Street. VSP has not released any details about the deceased individual and said they are still working on the identity. Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash at a rest stop on I‑66 in Prince William County. According to the preliminary investigation, 19‑year‑old Jose Daniel Rivera Quintana of Bristow was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla at a high rate of speed as he entered the rest area. Investigators say he appeared to lose control of the vehicle and struck a legally parked Kenworth 310 tractor‑trailer. An arrest has been made in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Spotsylvania that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man on January 9. According to Lt. Colonel Delbert Myrick, preliminary findings show that around 10 p.m. that Friday night, Sameer Anwar was riding an e-bike equipped with lights eastbound on Courthouse Road when he was struck from behind by a burgundy GMC SUV. (AD) The SUV fled the scene, and Anwar hit by a second vehicle, whose driver remained on site until Spotsylvania police and fire and rescue crews arrived. Henrico Police announced the 2nd arrest linked to the fatal March 22 hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Airport Drive and Audubon Drive. What allegedly began as a high-speed chase in New Kent ended with the crash in Henrico claiming the life Luis Fernando Cac Caal, 29, of Sandston. On the evening of May 19, Samarion Ty’shon Seymour, 20, of Norfolk, turned himself into the Petersburg Bureau of Police. During the course of the investigation, Henrico Police and investigators from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office determined Seymour was the driver of the Cadillac CTS that crashed killing Cac Caal. An 18-year-old has been arrested for the fatal hit-and-run that occurred at Airport Drive in Henrico last Saturday, March 22. The incident reportedly began with a New Kent deputy attempting to stop a vehicle headed westbound on I-64. According to New Kent Sheriff’s Office, that vehicle was going over 110 miles per hour. Ambulance driver killed in crash in King & Queen

Jacob Bozeman, a 20-year-old advanced EMT, was killed in an ambulance accident on Thursday. Bozeman was driving an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance on Rt. 360 in King and Queen County Thursday morning when a 2000 Peterbilt dump truck pulled onto Rt. 360 from Fleets Mill Road, Virginia State Police reported. The dump truck, intending to head westbound, stopped in the median to wait on traffic leaving approximately 40 inches of the truck sticking out into the travel lane, VSP added.
