3 facing charges in Patrick County for attack that left teen needing surgery

Two adults and a juvenile are facing charges in Patrick County for a severe attack of a 17-year-old on March 21st.

According to Patrick County Sheriff, Dan Smith, the teenage victim was at a friend’s home in Elamsville. Freddie Lee Kendrick Jr, 22, and Amber Mary Kendrick, 24, went to pick up a 15-year-old and the three went to the victim’s location.

Kendrick Jr. allegedly commanded the 15-year-old to attack the 17-year-old. Video and cell phone messages allegedly show Amber Kendrick videoing the attack and Kendrick Jr orchestrating the attack, the sheriff stated.

“The victim tried to run from the assailant and did not want to fight. It was clearly a one-sided, unprovoked attack that was hard to watch,” stated Smith. He said the victim sustained multiple facial fractures during the attack that will require reconstructive surgery.

The Kendricks both live on Iron Bridge Rd. in Woolwine but at different addresses. Smith said three search warrants were executed that included their homes and the home of the 15-year-old. Cell phones were seized that provided the evidence mentioned above.

All three of the accused are facing charges for malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit malicious wounding. Kendrick Jr. is also charged with soliciting a minor to commit malicious wounding.

The Kendricks are being held in Patrick County Jail without bond.

Smith did not provide details about the motive for the attack, but said the investigation continues.
