A set of 40-year-old twins from Woodbridge was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly committing a brazen act of shoplifting.
According to Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputy R.L. Hubbard and deputy S.A. Hensley were dispatched to the Walmart at 11 Village Parkway around 5:30 p.m. for a report of two males who were allegedly walking out of the store with unpaid merchandise.
The deputies found the pair in Lidl parking lot, and they had shopping carts, SCSO reported. Those shopping carts were filled with approximately $650 worth of items, including 10 bottles of laundry detergent, nine packages of lighters, four hams, and Zebra Cakes, SCSO added.
The two men were identified as Anthony Hagler and Nicholas Hagler, and according to SCSO, they admitted that they went to Walmart with the intention to steal items that they could resell later.
On top of allegedly pushing carts of stolen goods out of a store, when they were searched SCSO said both were found in possession of drugs. Furthermore, Nicholas was had two outstanding warrants from Prince William.
The brothers were charged with larceny and drug possession.
Anthony was given a $1,500 secured bond and has been released.
On top of his charges for the Walmart incident, Nicholas was served with the warrants from Prince William, which are for contempt of court. He has been denied bond and remains in Rappahannock Regional Jail.
