VDOT is offering drivers the chance to pinpoint exactly where they’re experiencing problems on I-81 in Virginia.
A new study is underway to identify where the next round of projects for the I-81 Corridor Improvement Plan should be.
Phase 1 of that study includes a public survey that has an interactive map spanning the entire 325 miles of I-81 in Virginia.
The public can use that map to post pins for issues such as high rates of crashes, poor grading and curves, and aggressive driving at the locations where they’re experiencing those issues.

VDOT plans to use the feedback from the public to determine whether its recent traffic-data analysis aligns with what drivers report they’re experiencing.
The survey and map are available here. Drivers have until April 15 to submit feedback.
