Alabama fugitive arrested for armed robbery in Spotsylvania

Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office announced a wanted 34-year-old Alabama man has been charged for a robbery at an unspecified business in the 10200 block of Patriot Highway.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on June 13th a man went into the business. Armed with a gun, he pushed the clerk to the register, took some cash, and fled.

Spotsylvania deputies established a perimeter and started an investigation that involved multiple units, including K9 teams. That investigation led them to a “a nearby hotel” where Michael Kirksey was found and arrested from the room.

Kirksey was charged with robbery and served with a fugitive from justice warrant from Alabama where Kirksey is wanted for a parole violation.

He’s currently being held without bond. And Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said additional charges are pending.
