Attempted murder suspect captured in Botetourt

Joseph Bray, an Eagle Rock, VA man, facing two counts of attempted murder and over a dozen other charges was taken into custody this afternoon without incident, according to Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier this week, BCSO announced they were looking for Bray whose charges stemmed from an incident that began with an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend Arieanna McDorman and led to him shooting at her mother.

Botetourt deputies, Virginia State Police and the US Marshal Service Capital Area Regional Task Force “employed every available law enforcement resource to locate and capture” Bray, BCSO said.

Bray is being held without bond at the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail. The investigation into the incident continues.

The update from BCSO did not include any new details regarding the whereabouts of McDorman who is wanted on unrelated charges.
