In May 2023, Danville Casino was opened as a temporary facility. According to Ceasar’s Virginia, since then, it has already paid more than $66 million to the City of Danville and The Commonwealth in gaming taxes.

According to Cardinal News, the City’s budget projected bringing in $25 million from Ceasar’s Virginia this fiscal year, including $16.3 million from state-collected gaming tax revenue and $8.7 million for the local supplement that Caesar’s Virginia agreed to pay Danville as part of its development agreement.

“We have worked diligently on creating a world-class resort that will offer all the luxurious and modern amenities expected from Caesars that will also serve as an economic driver for Danville and the surrounding region through employment and tourism,” said Barron Fuller, Regional President for Caesars Entertainment.

The operation is promising to deliver hundreds more jobs with the opening of its permanent home.

“Our property started out with just over 400 Team Members when the temporary facility opened last year, and we are on track to hire more than 1,200 by the time we open our doors in December,” said Chris Albrecht, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Caesars Virginia, in a statement last week.

Caesars Virginia is owned by Caesars Entertainment and venture partners EBCI Holdings and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
