Orlando man crashes in Southampton, VA amid police chase

According to Southampton Sheriff’s Office, an incident this weekend near Capron evolved from speeding to police chase to crash before landing a Florida man in jail with no bond. A deputy allegedly clocked 22-year-old Thierry Milien, of Orlando, going 104 mph in a 60 mph zone on Southampton Pkwy. The deputy tried to stop the sedan, but according to SCSO, Milien disregarded the officer continuing at a high rate of speed. Another deputy, who was further ahead, got involved and deployed spike strips. Ridgeway man allegedly shoots at wife during domestic dispute

A Ridgeway man is being held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond after an incident where he allegedly added a gun to the mix during a domestic dispute. Last Wednesday, Sept. 18, there was an altercation between Richard John Smith and his wife, Jeanie Hawks Smith on Wright Rd. in Ridgeway, Henry County Sheriff’s Office stated. In the midst of that dispute, R. Smith allegedly got a gun and, first, brandished it and threatened his wife and brother-in-law, Jimmy Hawks, said HCSO. But then, according to HCSO, R. Fairfax, VA man identified and charged in armed road rage case

Maryland State Police announced a Fairfax County, VA man has been arrested after being identified as the suspect in an “armed road rage” case this winter. The incident dates back to February 2, which is when MSP says a report came in that a driver in a black Ford F-150 pointed a firearm at another motorist. This allegedly occurred in the area of Interstate 95 and Route 1 in Prince George’s County. Using dashcam footage, investigators identified the suspect as 34-year-old Joshua John Cook, said MSP. 3 shot in Alexandria, including teen. Police seeking answers

Alexandria Police Department revealed that what began as a shooting investigation is now a death investigation. Thursday evening, around 8: 14 p.m. APD was dispatched to the 1300 block of Wythe Street to respond to a report of shots fired. Initially, APD reported that two people were shot. But later stated the investigation revealed a third individual was injured, a 15-year-old boy. He was grazed by a bullet and was treated at the scene, APD disclosed. On Thursday, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office shut down the flow of all traffic on George Washington Memorial Highway, aka Rt. 17, due to a shots fired incident. Nathaniel Lee Edmonds, a 24-year-old from Front Royal, is currently in RSW Regional Jail facing a 2nd degree murder charge for the death of his 1-year-old. The child died Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to Front Royal Police Dept. Officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of North Royal Avenue at approximately 2:40 p.m. for the report of a child in cardiac arrest, the Dept. stated. This month marked the 30th anniversary of the federal Violence Against Women Act. At an event to celebrate the occasion, U.S Attorney General Merrick B. Garland announced a new effort to reduce intimate partner violence involving guns. Garland announced that 78 communities across the U.S. and its territories have been selected as the initial focus of this effort. In Virginia, the focus is on Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Traffic delays coming for 2 Middle Peninsula – Northern Neck bridges

Upcoming work will cause delays for drivers using two bridges that connect the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Downing Bridge Starting tonight, Sept. 18, and continuing through the 20th, VDOT is advising drivers to expect overnight delays when crossing the Downing Bridge between Richmond County and Tappahannock. Due to a scheduled bridge inspection, Rt. 360 running over the bridge will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic regulated by an automated flagging device. Middlesex crash kills 90-year-old & daughter-in-law

The hours-long closure of Rt. 33 in Middlesex on Monday was caused by a fatal head-on collision. Shortly before 4 p.m., 64-year-old Allen Wayne Cash was driving east on Rt. 33 in a 2014 Kia Soul, Virginia State Police reported. He was east of Rt. 17, aka Gloucester Rd., when he crossed the double-solid line and ran head on into a westbound Ford Transit van, the crash investigation found.
