Charges pending for log truck crash in Middlesex

Charges are pending against the driver in a log truck crash that shut down Rt. 17 southbound in Middlesex on Monday, Virginia State Police confirmed.

The single-vehicle crash occurred just south of Forest Chapel.

Dominek Broaddus, of Tappahannock, lost control of the 2000 Peterbilt, ran off the road, and the truck overturned, VSP reported.

Broaddus was injured, but VSP described those injuries as non-life-threatening.

The southbound lanes in the area were shut down for hours. VSP said the occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Authorities didn’t announce the reopening until after 7 p.m.
