Fairfax, VA man identified and charged in armed road rage case

Maryland State Police announced a Fairfax County, VA man has been arrested after being identified as the suspect in an “armed road rage” case this winter.

The incident dates back to February 2, which is when MSP says a report came in that a driver in a black Ford F-150 pointed a firearm at another motorist. This allegedly occurred in the area of Interstate 95 and Route 1 in Prince George’s County.

Using dashcam footage, investigators identified the suspect as 34-year-old Joshua John Cook, said MSP. Then, authorities in Maryland tapped Virginia State Police to assist with the case, and VSP found a seized a handgun from Cook’s vehicle.

A Virginia judge released Cook while he is awaiting his upcoming hearings, MSP added.

Stay calm behind the wheels or do it behind bars, MSP said amid the announcement of Cook’s arrest. The department said it’s committed to actively addressing all reports of gun violence on Maryland highways.
