Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) announced the release of the final two correctional officers hospitalized following a brutal stabbing incident at Wallens Ridge State Prison.
The violent assault, described by officials as “apparently premeditated,” unfolded around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 2nd. A total of five VADOC officers were transported for outside medical treatment.
Three officers were treated and released later that same day. Two of those sustained only minor injuries while responding to the attack, according to VADOC.

The two officers admitted to the hospital were reportedly in stable condition at that time and have now been cleared to return home.
VADOC Director Chad Dotson expressed the agency’s relief, stating, “Our entire agency is relieved that all five officers involved in this heinous attack have now been discharged. They have constantly been in our prayers and are at the forefront of our thoughts.”
“Five of the individuals responsible for this senseless attack should never have been in this country in the first place,” according to Dodson.
Gang Members Accused

The investigation into the attack points to six inmates including five who are confirmed members of MS-13, a gang from El Salvador and were in the United States illegally, according to VADOC.
These inmates had been convicted of a litany of violent crimes, including aggravated murder, first and second-degree murder, and rape, VADOC noted.
The sixth inmate involved is reportedly a confirmed member of the Sureño 13 gang from the United States who is serving a sentence for second-degree murder.
The six inmates implicated in the stabbings have been transferred to another VADOC facility. Director Dotson affirmed the department’s commitment to seeking justice, stating, “Our “
“Please know that our Department will seek to prosecute these inmates, and any inmates who so much as lay a hand on our officers, to the furthest extent of the law,” said Dodson.
The investigation into the stabbing at Wallens Ridge State Prison is still underway.
