A former Lancaster County deputy has been arrested for child offenses again.
According to Hanover Sheriff’s Office, last month, 29-year-old Motley Allen Haynie was posing as a juvenile online and interacted with an investigator. Haynie was attempting to arrange a meeting to engage in sexual activity.
Hanover Sheriff’s Office said the individual was identified as Haynie, then, on July 25, warrants were obtained for two counts of solicitation of a minor and one count each for solicitation of child pornography and taking indecent liberties with a minor.
Haynie, a Heathsville resident, has an open case in Lancaster where he was serving as deputy when he was charged with a felony count of using a computer to solicit a minor and one felony count of solicitation of a minor under 16 for prostitution in February 2023.
Court records show Haynie was released on his own recognizance after being arrested for those charges.
Then, under a plea agreement, brokered by special prosecutor Eric Olsen, Stafford County Commonwealth’s Attorney, his two charges were reduced to misdemeanors, the Rappahannock Record reported.
Haynie was sentenced to 12 months on each charge but only had to serve a total of 3 months and was allowed to do that time on weekends, according to the Rappahannock Record.
That deal was also dependent upon Haynie paying his court costs and completing a counseling program. The docket for Lancaster General District Court shows Haynie is set to return to court for his administrative hearing on September 25.
For the Hanover charges, Haynie is being held in jail. He has an attorney appointment hearing for that case scheduled for August 16, court records show.
