
The body of a 79-year-old Maryland woman was found in the river in Northumberland, according to the Sheriff’s Office
Louise Cox, of Prince George’s County had been reported missing. Her missing poster stated she was last seen on Saturday, July 12, in the evening at Rivertowne Shopping Center in Oxon Hill. The vehicle associated with her was a black 2014 Honda Accord.

Northumberland Sheriff’s Office reported that its deputies were called to Ferry Road on Monday morning, July 14, for an unattended vehicle. They found the vehicle, ran the license plate, and began searching the area. Within minutes, those officers found a body offshore in the Little Wicomico River.
Based on items at the scene, including her driver’s license, the person was determined to be Cox, whom NCSO stated was reported missing in Prince George’s County.
An investigation is underway with Prince George’s Police Department assisting NCSO.
