Body of 19-year-old missing from Westmoreland found in Essex

The body of Gabriella Watkins, a 19-year-old who went missing in early December, has been located, Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. As previously reported, Watkins had been missing since December 6. She was found Tuesday, January 28, amid an “extensive search” of an Essex County property that involved six local and state agencies, WCSO reported. A search warrant had been obtained for a large tract of land adjacent to Church Hill Road and Desha Road, WCSO revealed. VSP asking public to submit info about shooting on I-64 in Norfolk

Virginia State Police is asking the public to reach out with any information about a vehicle or potential shooters involved in a shooting on I-64 in Norfolk on Saturday, Jan. 25. At approximately 3:14 p.m. a male called the state police communication center reporting he was involved in a shooting. According to VSP, its preliminary investigations revealed the victim was heading west in a blue Kia Stinger near Norview Avenue. An “unknown vehicle” began shooting, prompted the Stinger driver to get off the interstate at Chesapeake Boulevard. Stuart man allegedly wielding a pipe gets shot by a 78-year-old

A 34-year-old man from Stuart had to be airlifted to the hospital after getting shot while allegedly busting his way into an elderly man’s home. Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith reported that James Hazelwood, a 78-year-old who lives on Big A School Road in Stuart, called 911 just after 8:30 a.m. on January 23 to report a man with an iron pipe was outside beating his vehicle. That man, identified as Griffith Coy Goodyear, of Salem Highway also in Stuart, then proceeded to use the pipe to beat the residence and busted out several windows, Smith said Hazelwood reported. A 19-year-old is being held without bond and facing a list of charges after allegedly attacking two Mathews County deputies attempting to arrest him. At approximately 12:30 on January 14, deputies responded to a 911 call for service on Bellevue Road in Susan. Mathews County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses at the scene reported Alberto Cruz Fraire was experiencing bouts of paranoia and walking around the house with a knife. Virginia State Police are still searching for 38-year-old Victor A. Caneza who was reportedly involved in two crashes and a police chase in Fairfax on Monday before making a getaway. According to VSP, it was approximately 2:40 p.m. and troopers were working two accidents along Interstate 495 East near Eisenhower Ave when a third crash occurred involving two vehicles. A trooper assigned to the third crash asked the two vehicles to move from the left to the right shoulder as authorities attempted to consolidate all the crash scenes.
