Stafford man accused of serial armed robbery at 7-Eleven stores facing charges in 3 localities

A man described by Stafford Sheriff Office as a “serial armed robber” was caught, arrested, and hit with charges from three jurisdictions. Suspect in Spotsylvania On November 12th, at approximately 11:30p.m., a call came in to Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office reporting a robbery at the 7-Eleven in the 10350 block of Patriot Highway. A store employee reported a black male came in, displayed a handgun, and demanded money, Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office stated. The employee provided the money, and the suspect fled. Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office revealed that while deputies were on the scene investigating that robbery, another 911 call came in at 12:30 a.m. from a 7-Eleven at 5900 Harrison Road. 2 failure-to-move-over stops lead to drug charges in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg officers had the Move Over Law top of mind last week. On two consecutive days, cases of drivers allegedly failing to move over ended with drug charges. Wednesday stop The first incident occurred on Wednesday, August 21. Officer Velasco was providing backup for a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Emancipation Highway and a vehicle came by that failed to move over and failed to slow down, according to FPD. Velasco was cleared and went after vehicle that passed. When he made the stop, FPD said Officer Hibbitts arrived at the scene to assist. The two officers saw “drug items in plain view,” FPD reported. Fredericksburg: 24-hour lane closures in Southpoint Pkwy area through Sept.

Lanes closures have been imposed at the intersection of Rt. 1 in Fredericksburg, and they will remain in effect 24 hours a day through mid-September. VDOT is advising drivers to use alternate routes if possible. Those who can’t avoid the Southpoint Parkway area are advised to prepare for delays on Southpoint Parkway and northbound Route 1, especially during peak travel periods. Prepare: traffic stops and lane closures through late August

Drivers who use the Falmouth Bridge to travel between Fredericksburg and Stafford in the evenings, be advised. Delays and closures are scheduled for the days ahead. Starting today, Monday, Aug.19 and running through Thursday, Aug. 29, from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., there will be single-lane closures. Those closures will be imposed in alternating directions. Also, overnight between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 22-23 and Aug. 27-28, there will be intermittent full traffic stops for up to 15 minutes each. According to VDOT, these measures are needed to conduct live load tests on the bridge. Sensors will be placed on the bridge to measure the bridge’s response to vehicles of various weights.
