2 killed in multi-vehicle crash on Norris Bridge

Virginia State Police have identified the two individuals killed in a fiery three-vehicle crash that forced a lengthy shutdown of the Norris Bridge on Sunday. Expect overnight delays for Norris Bridge July 14-19

Three men from Warsaw arrested last month for burglaries in Westmoreland County are now facing burglary charges in Gloucester. Gloucester County Sheriff's Office reported that on April 3, 2025, deputies responded to a residential burglary on Woods Cross Road. Investigators found evidence of forced entry into the home. According to the GCSO, the investigation quickly gained traction when a witness reported a suspicious vehicle in their driveway around the time of the burglary. Ambulance driver killed in crash in King & Queen

Jacob Bozeman, a 20-year-old advanced EMT, was killed in an ambulance accident on Thursday. Bozeman was driving an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance on Rt. 360 in King and Queen County Thursday morning when a 2000 Peterbilt dump truck pulled onto Rt. 360 from Fleets Mill Road, Virginia State Police reported. The dump truck, intending to head westbound, stopped in the median to wait on traffic leaving approximately 40 inches of the truck sticking out into the travel lane, VSP added. Lane closures & delays coming to Norris Bridge

Prepare for nighttime traffic delays when crossing the Robert O. Norris Jr. Bridge, also known as the White Stone Bridge, as VDOT will begin a rehabilitation project on March 31. VDOT said the work on the bridge, which carries Rt. 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex, will involve closures and drivers should expect delays. During the project, workers will be strengthening and replacing structural steel elements on the bridge. The first two weeks will be used to take measurements and assess the materials needed for the forthcoming repairs. VDOT is conducting on study on the driving conditions in Gloucester on Rt. 14 between Main Street and Ware Neck Rd. focused on safety, congestion, access management, and bicycle/pedestrian accommodation in the study area.  VDOT is encouraging the public to provide input on their travel experience via this survey. 19-year-old allegedly removed taser prongs & injured 2 Mathews deputies

A 19-year-old is being held without bond and facing a list of charges after allegedly attacking two Mathews County deputies attempting to arrest him. At approximately 12:30 on January 14, deputies responded to a 911 call for service on Bellevue Road in Susan. Mathews County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses at the scene reported Alberto Cruz Fraire was experiencing bouts of paranoia and walking around the house with a knife. According to MCSO, Fraire grew increasingly frustrated by the police presence, approached one of the deputies, and grabbed his taser. Two officers attempted to place Fraire under arrest, but he reportedly resisted and started fighting the officers.
