A 14-year-old boy in Lancaster was killed after reportedly shooting himself on Saturday, My 17.
According to Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in reporting the incident in the 400 block of Russell Lane around 5:38 p.m.

Lancaster deputies began immediately rendering aid to 14-year-old Cason Chilton until Lancaster County Emergency Services arrived to take over.
LifeEvac was summoned and the teen was airlifted to VCU Children’s Hospital. But while in route, he died, and the flight was diverted back to his hometown hospital, Bon Secours Rappahannock General in Kilmarnock.
Authorities didn’t release details of how Chilton shot himself, but Lancaster Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was a “self-inflicted accidental shooting.”
Chilton was an 8th grade student at Aylett Country Day School.
