On January 30, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence at 46 Holloway Drive. Investigators found several pieces of evidence, including a 12‑gauge shotgun and three fired shotgun shells believed to be connected to the incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Edwin Green Turner was interviewed and confessed, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Turner is charged with:
• Felony animal cruelty
• Possession of a firearm by someone involuntarily admitted or ordered to outpatient treatment
• Reckless handling of a firearm
The HCSO is consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, and additional charges are pending.
Turner was incarcerated at the Henry County Adult Detention Center and granted a $5,000 secured bond, but records show he remains in custody.
“Our investigators have worked diligently and methodically to bring this case forward. Acts of cruelty toward animals are taken seriously in Henry County, and we will continue to hold individuals accountable when evidence supports criminal charges,” Sheriff Wayne Davis stated.
