VSP asking public to submit info about shooting on I-64 in Norfolk

Virginia State Police is asking the public to reach out with any information about a vehicle or potential shooters involved in a shooting on I-64 in Norfolk on Saturday, Jan. 25.

At approximately 3:14 p.m. a male called the state police communication center reporting he was involved in a shooting. According to VSP, its preliminary investigations revealed the victim was heading west in a blue Kia Stinger near Norview Avenue. An “unknown vehicle” began shooting, prompted the Stinger driver to get off the interstate at Chesapeake Boulevard.

That driver had a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to Norfolk General Hospital, VSP confirmed.

Now, VSP is hoping to find witnesses who were on I-64 West between Norview Avenue and Chesapeake Boulevard around the time of the incident.
