Port Royal man wanted for workplace stabbing in Stafford found & charged

The 22-year-old Port Royal man wanted for stabbing his co-worker in Stafford was found and arrested this week.

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office had been looking for Leonard Pratt, Jr. since March 8.

On that Friday, at around 1:40 p.m., Deputy C.S. Harding responded to an assault call at Genesis Logistics on Bradburn Place.

The caller reported that two employees got into a fight in the warehouse. One of those individuals got stabbed and was taken to the hospital. Pratt, who is accused of stabbing him, left the scene before police arrived.

Based on interviews with witnesses, the review of camera footage, and evidence collected at the scene, SCSO said Harding was able to uncover what occurred.

Pratt and his co-worker agreed to fight, but then, Pratt reportedly added “a bladed object” to the situation. When the unnamed co-worker saw the weapon, he tried to get away, but SCSO said Pratt chased him down and stabbed him.

The unnamed co-worker was able fight Pratt off, SCSO said. And, it’s at that point, that Pratt got into a sedan and left the scene.

Police called on the public for assistance locating Pratt. This week, SCSO reported that Pratt was found and charged with malicious wounding, assault and battery, and disorderly conduct.

Pratt is currently in Rappahannock Regional Jail being held without bond.
