Virginia State Police confirmed there is an investigation underway into an incident involving an unknown vehicle linked to a 9-vehicle crash in Virginia Beach.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on I-64 East at Indian River Rd. According to VSP, an unknown vehicle “became disabled” in a traffic lane and stopped in the path of traffic. That caused other vehicles to have stop abruptly, and they began crashing into one another, said VSP.
Meanwhile, the vehicle that was disabled left the scene, VSP reported. One the individuals involved was injured and transported for treatment. That person’s injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.
