A 44-year-old Ashburn woman is accused of going on quite a porch-raiding spree last fall.
According to Leesburg Police Department, on Friday Nov 17, someone reported that a white woman with blonde hair had snatched a package that had just been delivered on Nivens Court SW. The package snatcher was driving a white colored sedan, LPD was told.
As police were canvassing the area looking for the suspect, LPD said numerous other calls came in reporting similar incident on surrounding streets.
LPD located the suspect vehicle in the 1100 block of Coubertin Drive SE. An officer performed a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Brandi Renee Lowry, LPD stated. “Multiple stolen packages and clothing items were located in plain view in Lowry’s vehicle.”
Based on the initial investigation, police connected Lowry to at least two porch package thefts. She was booked at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on two counts of petty larceny and released on an unsecured bond.
But the investigation didn’t end there, and police later connected her to three more thefts that occurred on the same day as the previous charges. LPD said it was reported that Lowry appeared to have been following the delivery truck that day.
Three additional petit larceny charges were filed against Lowry in November, but LPD said they had been unable to locate Lowry.
That changed on February 8 when she came to Loudoun County Courthouse for an arraignment on the first two charges. LPD said she was arrested by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for the three new charges.
After being booked at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, she was again released on an unsecured bond.
