2 failure-to-move-over stops lead to drug charges in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg officers had the Move Over Law top of mind last week. On two consecutive days, cases of drivers allegedly failing to move over ended with drug charges. Wednesday stop The first incident occurred on Wednesday, August 21. Officer Velasco was providing backup for a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Emancipation Highway and a vehicle came by that failed to move over and failed to slow down, according to FPD. Velasco was cleared and went after vehicle that passed. When he made the stop, FPD said Officer Hibbitts arrived at the scene to assist. The two officers saw “drug items in plain view,” FPD reported. Henry County man wanted by 4 agencies allegedly tries trap door getaway

On Tuesday, Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 44-year-old man wanted by four law enforcement agencies for a list of charges, including hit and run, drugs, and larceny. HCSO said officers executed a search warrant on a residence at 1106 Joppa Rd. in Ridgeway after obtaining “credible information” that William Jackson Kennedy was hiding at the location. Henry County Sheriff's Office reported finding Kennedy under a mobile home at 1106 Joppa Rd. Kennedy reportedly attempted to evade police during their search using a trap door. Stafford County police are looking for the suspect in an August 20 stabbing in Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park. That morning, shortly after 5 a.m., a call came in reporting the incident. By the time police arrived, the suspect, identified as Jamie Flores, had fled the scene, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported. Authorities didn’t give an estimated time that the stabbing occurred, but said Flores had a lengthy head start on his escape. While 55-year-old David Lawrence Schneider was at the Richmond County courthouse this morning to be arraigned for child sex offenses, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was announcing that an additional 19 charges were filed in the case. On August 6, Sheriff Stephan Smith announced Schneider was arrested at 8:02 that morning for taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role. According to Hanover Sheriff’s Office, last month, 29-year-old Motley Allen Haynie was posing as a juvenile online and interacted with an investigator. 2 charged in Scott County after death of 7-week-old baby

Scott County Sheriff’s Office announced two people have been charged in connection with the death of a 7-week old baby. At around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 22., a call came in to Scott County Central Dispatch regarding a baby who wasn’t breathing. According to the sheriff’s office, rescue and deputies were immediately dispatched to the scene in the Alley Valley area. Meanwhile, a dispatcher provided instructions on how to perform CPR. The charges stemmed from a previously reported incident at the July 2023 Gloucester School Board meeting.
