US Marshals offering reward for escaped inmate from North Carolina
With the manhunt approaching two weeks, the U.S. Marshals Service announced a reward up to $7,000 for escapee John Matthew Nigh.
Nigh, a 37-year-old white male, is wanted for escaping from the Craven County Detention Facility in North Carolina. USMS labeled him armed and dangerous and said he has an extensive criminal history including attempted murder of law enforcement, drugs, and weapons charges.
According to Craven County Sheriff’s Office, detention officers discovered Nigh was missing from his cell at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.
