A 22-year-old Williamsburg man has been sentenced to federal prison after admitting he sent images of child sexual abuse to a Williamsburg police officer in a threatening email.
On February 14, while on duty, “Police Officer 1” asked Xavier Stafford to move his vehicle off private property. The following day, the officer again requested that Stafford move his vehicle.

Case documents reveal that, on February 15, Officer 1 received an email from “GoodnightPig@protonmail.com.” In addition to racist ranting, the email stated: “We’re an organization that deals with pigs like you. The ones that want to step out of line. The ones that like to harass innocent people for a lousy paycheck.”
Another email from the same account followed on February 18. Stafford admitted sending this message, which contained slurs and the threat: “I’m going to rape your little girl.”
The email included graphic details of what Stafford claimed he would do to the child. He wrote that he knew where the officer’s family lived and added: “I’ll be her new father now. :)”
Stafford also admitted that the email contained two animated images depicting a girl being sexually and physically abused. Beneath the images it said, “Just like that [racial slur] ;)”

In addition, Stafford included a live photo with looping frames of Officer 1’s house, including views inside the residence. One image showed a balloon that Officer 1 confirmed having between February 14 and February 17.
The FBI reported that Stafford’s phone contained evidence linking him to the creation of the email account, images of Officer 1’s house, and numerous files depicting violent child sexual abuse.
On December 4, Stafford was sentenced to five years in federal prison for distribution of obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.
