In Virginia, for any prize over $1 million, the winner can claim the prize anonymously, which is what this individual chose to do, according to a statement from the VA Lottery.
The winner had the choice of taking the $348 million jackpot in annual payments over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $155.6 million before taxes. That person chose the cash option.
The winner told Virginia Lottery officials that the plan for the money is to buy a zero-radius riding lawn mower.
