Alexandria, VA man facing attempted murder for Maryland road rage shooting

An Alexandria, VA man is facing attempted murder and a list of other charged stemming from an alleged case of road rage.

On Thursday, April 3, Maryland State Police responded to a report of a shooting on Route 5 in near Burch Hill Road in Prince George’s County. 

The victim, who was uninjured, reported that a driver in a 2023 black Ford Explorer with Michigan tags shot at him. MSP said that driver was determined to be 46-year-old Marco Williams.

A US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Williams in Fairfax on April 9.

During the investigation, search warrants were executed on Williams’ apartment and a vehicle in his possession, and MSP said police found two loaded firearms and a large quantity of narcotics. 

Williams is charged with attempted first-degree murder, felony assault, firearms offenses, and “additional crimes,” MSP reported. He’s currently in custody awaiting extradition to Maryland.
