Two men have been arrested in a case involving fake money in Richmond County. On April 29, Donte Steffon Sutton, a 28-year-old of Weems, was charged with knowingly possessing counterfeit money and two counts of soliciting an adult to utter forged currency knowing it was forged. Surprise Lead: Fredericksburg Police get gun linked to 2017 case

Fredericksburg Police Dept. got an unlikely break in a 2017 investigation. The Rappahannock Canal was drained recently, and on April 27, a firearm was uncovered in the drained section, FPD said. The gun was rusted, heavily damaged, and the serial number was “deliberately obliterated.” Detectives Mejia and Dobson went to work examining the gun and used advanced restoration techniques to recover the serial number. Todd Stewart Williams, a 54-year-old former Smyth County School Board official, has pled guilty to four federal child pornography charges and is awaiting his sentence. Williams admitted he coerced boys across numerous states to produce pornographic material between 2021 and 2024. He relied heavily on services, such as Snapchat and Telegram, to communicate with the boys and paid them through a variety of means, including CashApp, PayPal, in-app purchases, and, in at least one case, mailing a debit card, federal documents revealed. Four teens have been charged for a Spotsylvania shooting that killed three people and sent three others to the hospital, including one of the suspects. Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said information about the shooting came in around 5:30 p.m. yesterday (April 9). When officers arrived at the scene near Olde Greenwich Circle in a townhouse complex, they found multiple people shot. Three individuals were dead, including two 18-year-olds from Spotsylvania, Chase and Alonzo Goffney, along with a 20-year-old, whose name is being withheld pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office. Zeon Detwan Garner was sentenced for the 3-person shooting that occurred on May 30 in the the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg. That evening, Garner was with his mother and sister, and they encountered three people in the courtyard of the apartment complex. According to Leesburg Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, Garner had an ongoing issue with one of those individuals, and one of them allegedly brandished a firearm as Garner passed with his family. After escorting his family inside, said Garner came back out of the apartment, passed the group again, who Garner said continued to “mean mug” him. 3 facing charges in Patrick County for attack that left teen needing surgery

Two adults and a juvenile are facing charges in Patrick County for a severe attack of a 17-year-old on March 21st. According to Patrick County Sheriff, Dan Smith, the teenage victim was at a friend’s home in Elamsville. Freddie Lee Kendrick Jr, 22, and Amber Mary Kendrick, 24, went to pick up a 15-year-old and the three went to the victim’s location. Kendrick Jr. allegedly commanded the 15-year-old to attack the 17-year-old. Video and cell phone messages allegedly show Amber Kendrick videoing the attack and Kendrick Jr orchestrating the attack, the sheriff stated. “The victim tried to run from the assailant and did not want to fight. Attempted murder suspect captured in Botetourt

Joseph Bray, an Eagle Rock, VA man, facing two counts of attempted murder and over a dozen other charges was taken into custody this afternoon without incident, according to Botetourt County Sheriff's Office. Earlier this week, BCSO announced they were looking for Bray whose charges stemmed from an incident that began with an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend Arieanna McDorman and led to him shooting at her mother. Botetourt deputies, Virginia State Police and the US Marshal Service Capital Area Regional Task Force "employed every available law enforcement resource to locate and capture" Bray, BCSO said. An 18-year-old has been arrested for the fatal hit-and-run that occurred at Airport Drive in Henrico last Saturday, March 22. The incident reportedly began with a New Kent deputy attempting to stop a vehicle headed westbound on I-64. According to New Kent Sheriff’s Office, that vehicle was going over 110 miles per hour. Refusing to stop, the car, later identified as a Cadillac CTS, continued into Henrico and took the Airport Road exit. NKSO said the driver disregarded multiple traffic signals and collided into another vehicle. On March 12, a Caroline County police officer, deputy Watkins, went to Sheetz in Ladysmith to inform employees that another Sheetz in King George had been robbed.  According to Caroline County Sheriff’s Office, only 5 minutes after Watkins left the store, the suspect came in. According to CCSO, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a mask. He approached the clerk with a gun, demanded money, and after the clerk complied, he ran toward Rt. 1. CCSO said its investigators concluded that he got into a white SUV along Center Drive. Big Stone Gap cop killer gets 2nd 100-year sentence

Michael Donivan White, the South Carolina man who pulled the trigger and killed Michael Chandler, a Big Stone Gap police officer, just got sentenced to another 100 years in prison. A fatal call Chandler was killed on November 13, 2021. Around 4 a.m. that morning, he responded to a welfare check at a place known locally as “the red house.”  Virginia State Police said it was well known to law enforcement for civil disturbances, warrants, welfare checks, overdoses, assaults, and drug activity. When Chandler arrived, he parked on the street, walked up to a car in the driveway, and knocked on the window with his flashlight.
