2 Blue Ridge Task Force investigations closed with arrests

Two months into 2025, and Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force wrapped up two investigations with seizures and arrests. At the end of January, Virginia State Police, a member of the Blue Ridge task force, announced partners ended a lengthy investigation with the arrest of Howard B. Jenkins of Manassas. According to VSP, Culpeper Sheriff’s office and other task force officers stopped a Chevy Tahoe on Route 3 near Yellow Bottom Road in Culpeper for not having a license plate. The driver 43-year-old Jenkins, tried to run but was quickly caught. Family offering $40K reward for info on Wakefield double shooting

Sussex County Sheriff’s Office announced the family of two October 2024 shooting victims is offering a $40,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. SCSO said, on October 24, at about 11:49 p.m., the office received a call reporting a person shot at a residence on East Church Street in Wakefield. Information gathered suggested two people went into the home and shot two residents, the office added. Fugitive with 20 warrants found & arrested in Charles City County

A wanted man with 20 outstanding warrants was caught and arrested in Charles City County. On January 28, James City County Police Department released a wanted poster for 22-year-old Tyler Kwan Wallace and announced he had 20 warrants issued between August and December 2024. The charges included abduction, assault and battery, strangulation, and child abuse, JCCPD said. “Despite exhaustive efforts to locate him, Wallace remains at large,” said JCCPD. Although the department asked the public to provide information, the public was advised not approach him and said he should be considered armed. Williamsburg man sentenced for impersonating cop while detaining children

Cody Hardin, a 31-year-old Williamsburg man, was sentenced Wednesday for impersonating law enforcement while detaining children. James City County Police Department issued a statement explaining that Hardin was arrested last October after the office received a call from a person claiming to be an off-duty police officer, and he said he had two juveniles in the Fenwick Hills neighborhood for suspicious activity. VSP asking public to submit info about shooting on I-64 in Norfolk

Virginia State Police is asking the public to reach out with any information about a vehicle or potential shooters involved in a shooting on I-64 in Norfolk on Saturday, Jan. 25. At approximately 3:14 p.m. a male called the state police communication center reporting he was involved in a shooting. According to VSP, its preliminary investigations revealed the victim was heading west in a blue Kia Stinger near Norview Avenue. An “unknown vehicle” began shooting, prompted the Stinger driver to get off the interstate at Chesapeake Boulevard. A 19-year-old is being held without bond and facing a list of charges after allegedly attacking two Mathews County deputies attempting to arrest him. At approximately 12:30 on January 14, deputies responded to a 911 call for service on Bellevue Road in Susan. Mathews County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses at the scene reported Alberto Cruz Fraire was experiencing bouts of paranoia and walking around the house with a knife. According to MCSO, Fraire grew increasingly frustrated by the police presence, approached one of the deputies, and grabbed his taser. Within days, Suffolk Police arrested suspects in two unrelated shootings, and both arrests were made possible due to help from the community. Micheal McKinley Jr. who Suffolk Police Department as its “#1 most wanted” was arrested on December 11. Suffolk Police named the 22-year-old as the suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on November 29 in the 100 block of Kennet Drive. Virginia Beach Police Department linked a robbery suspect to a shooting in Chesapeake, and 21-year-old Timothy Eugene Lane Jr. is now facing charges in both cities. VBPD officers responded to a home invasion robbery call in the 700 block of Brook Meadow Ct. on Oct. 15. The investigation led to Lane being identified as the suspect, and when he was arrested police recovered a gun, the department stated. A 17-year-old male of Alexandria has been arrested and charged for shooting another teenager Monday night in Herndon. Shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, Herndon Police Department announced Cavalier Drive was closed between Saber Lane and Third Street as police were on the scene due to a shooting. 4 juveniles hospitalized after police chase ends in fiery crash

All four juveniles rescued from a burning car amid a police chase have been hospitalized, Virginia State Police announced. The chase was initiated Monday night on Van Dorn St. by Alexandria Police after an officer reportedly attempted to stop a Hyundai Elantra suspected to be stolen out of Prince George’s County, Maryland. According to VSP, the car refused to stop and state police joined the pursuit at Van Dorn and Vine streets at approximately 11:19 p.m. VSP said the pursuit went along Van Dorn Street, Telegraph Road, Route 236, and Route 1.
