23-year-old wanted for killing 3 roommates in Virginia caught in New York

After a hunt lasting over a day, the triple-murder suspect Alyssa Jane Venable of Spotsylvania, VA was captured in New York. Wednesday, Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office announced 23-year-old Venable was wanted for three counts of 2nd degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. She is accused of killing her roommates who were found Tuesday night at around 10 p.m. in their shared home. Venable and the three victims, each rented a room inside of a brick house in the 10500 block of White Street Court, reported Fox 5 DC. Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office had advised that Venable may be in a 2009 Honda Civic. Police searching for Spotsylvania woman accused of killing 3 people

A search is underway for a 23-year-old woman accused of killing three people in Spotsylvania. On Tuesday, June 4, Spotsylvania deputies responded to the 10500 block of White Street Court around 10 p.m. for a welfare check. Inside the residence, they found three people dead, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The victims are 77-year-old Robert John McGuire, 60-year-old Gregory Scott Powell, and Carol Anne Reese, age 65. According to SCSO, they all suffered from upper body trauma. And, “It was discovered that a roommate had committed this heinous crime. A 31-year-old man who taught in Chesapeake and Spotsylvania is now in jail facing charges in both jurisdictions for child sex offenses. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office announced it recently filed a charge against Daniel Brian Fleming for taking indecent liberties with a child. That charge stemmed from allegations of inappropriate contact with a juvenile in 2019. According to Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Child Victim Unit opened a criminal case after receiving information from Chesapeake, which already had its investigation of Fleming underway. Crash damages bridge at Middlesex-Gloucester line, VSP investigating

Virginia State Police launched an investigation into the truck crash that damaged the bridge over Dragon Run and closed one northbound lane of Rt. 17 at the Gloucester-Middlesex line. The crash occurred Monday around noon. According to VSP, Alvin T. McGowan, a 48-year-old of North Chesterfield, was heading northbound in a 2016 Volvo VHD64T. The truck ran off the road on the right side, hit a guardrail, hit the bridge, and then struck the guardrail a second time. McGowan was not injured, VSP confirmed. VDOT announced a single-lane closure on the northbound side within the noon hour, and it remains underway. Many UPS packages will not be arriving due to a 3-alarm fire at a UPS warehouse in Chesterfield yesterday. Chesterfield Fire & EMS crews were dispatched to the 9600 block of Coach Road at 2:37 a.m. and report finding fire coming from a semi-truck trailer attached to the side of the warehouse. That trailer was among a line of others backed up to the building. 2nd man arrested in Leesburg 3-person shooting case

Leesburg Police Department announced a second arrest in the May 30th shooting case that sent three men to the hospital. Zeon Garner, a 21-year-old Herndon man, was arrested last Friday at an apartment in the in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE. That is the same block where the shooting took place. LPD credits a tip from a community member for the arrest. Garner was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, a Class 6 felony. He was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond. His arrest follows that Sylvanus Massaquoi, a 19-year-old Sterling resident, who is facing an aggravated malicious wounding charge stemming from the shooting. One arrest has been made for the Thursday evening shooting that sent three men to the hospital, Leesburg Police Department announced. It was around 7:48 p.m. yesterday when LPD responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. and found three men with gunshot wounds. 2 Winchester men killed in Essex crash, driver charged

A Winchester man has been charged for an Essex County crash that led to the death of two men. The single-vehicle crash occurred last Wednesday on Route 17. Martimiano Perez Linares, age 42, was heading northbound in a 2003 Dodge pickup that was pulling a small trailer, Virginia State Police stated. In the 5300 block of Tidewater Trail (Rt. 17) Linares ran off the road to the left, overturned, and his three passengers were thrown from the truck. Jose Euglogio Cruz Gomez, 61, and Wulfrano Cruz Gomez, 41, who were both also Winchester residents, died at the scene. Linares was entrapped. At only 27 years old, Najee Lewis, aka Bebo, of Stafford was hit with another federal prison sentence today. In 2014, Prince William Circuit Court sentenced Lewis for two robberies committed two days apart. Seven years of his 10-year sentence was suspended, and he was released in May 2018, court records show. Less than four months after his release for the robbery charges, Lewis was caught with a 9mm Ruger displayed in a music video on YouTube, That firearm was reported stolen in 2018 and was recovered in October 2019, documents from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) show.
