Fredericksburg Police have boosted their presence at parks and trails across the city amid an ongoing investigation into a string of sexual assault incidents along the Canal Path and Heritage Trail.
According to the Fredericksburg Police Department, the first incident occurred March 19 along the Canal Path, where a suspect approached a woman, grabbed her buttocks, and fled on foot.
He is described as a male, approximately 5’10”, between 25 and 35 years old, with a medium build.

A second incident was reported March 23 along the Heritage Trail. A similarly described suspect—male, approximately 5’11” to 6’01” with a medium build—approached a woman, grabbed her buttocks, and fled.
