US Marshals catch murder suspect 8 months after Prince William shooting

The US Marshals Service caught the Fredericksburg man who was wanted in Prince William for the murder of 26-year-old Quatrail Raynard Smalls of Big Stone Gap. As  previously reported, on November 14, Prince William County Police found Smalls shot in the 3700 block of Wharf Lane in Triangle. He survived the trip to the hospital but later died. The following day, PWCPD announced Tyus James Terrell, a 27-year-old Fredericksburg man, as the suspect. After over a week  of fruitless attempts to find him, the department announced a $5,000 reward. On January 3, PWCPD doubled the reward, but still there was no Terrell until this week. Man arrested and charged for setting fires in Chesterfield

Chesterfield Fire Marshal’s Office believes the fires found along Iron Bridge Road on Monday were intentionally set. Just before 5 p.m. fire and EMS crews were dispatched for a report of a brush fire along Rt. 10 near Kingsland Rd. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found two separate fires, one on each side of the road, Chesterfield authorities reported. South Carolina man pled guilty to killing Virginia police officer

On Wednesday, Michael Donivan White, a 36-year-old South Carolina man, pled guilty to eight federal charges linked to the murder of Michael Chandler, a Big Stone Gap Police Officer. Chandler was killed in the line of duty on November 13 at 2505 Orr Street. That location, referred to locally as “the red house,” was well-known to police who were dispatched there for civil disturbances, warrants, welfare checks, overdoses, assaults, and drug-related activities, according to Virginia State Police. Leesburg man stopped for public intoxication hit with drug & gun charges

Appearing to be intoxicated landed a Leesburg man in jail facing several drug and gun charges. According to Leesburg Police Department, officers were in the 75 Plaza Street NE area at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday conducting foot patrol when they encountered 28-year-old Nicholas T. Roach, who “appeared to be under the influence.” LPD said Roach was placed under arrest for public intoxication. 23-year-old wanted for killing 3 roommates in Virginia caught in New York

After a hunt lasting over a day, the triple-murder suspect Alyssa Jane Venable of Spotsylvania, VA was captured in New York. Wednesday, Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office announced 23-year-old Venable was wanted for three counts of 2nd degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. She is accused of killing her roommates who were found Tuesday night at around 10 p.m. in their shared home. Venable and the three victims, each rented a room inside of a brick house in the 10500 block of White Street Court, reported Fox 5 DC. Police searching for Spotsylvania woman accused of killing 3 people

A search is underway for a 23-year-old woman accused of killing three people in Spotsylvania. On Tuesday, June 4, Spotsylvania deputies responded to the 10500 block of White Street Court around 10 p.m. for a welfare check. Inside the residence, they found three people dead, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The victims are 77-year-old Robert John McGuire, 60-year-old Gregory Scott Powell, and Carol Anne Reese, age 65. According to SCSO, they all suffered from upper body trauma. And, “It was discovered that a roommate had committed this heinous crime. A 31-year-old man who taught in Chesapeake and Spotsylvania is now in jail facing charges in both jurisdictions for child sex offenses. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office announced it recently filed a charge against Daniel Brian Fleming for taking indecent liberties with a child. That charge stemmed from allegations of inappropriate contact with a juvenile in 2019. According to Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Child Victim Unit opened a criminal case after receiving information from Chesapeake, which already had its investigation of Fleming underway. 3 shot in Leesburg, Sterling man arrested

One arrest has been made for the Thursday evening shooting that sent three men to the hospital, Leesburg Police Department announced. It was around 7:48 p.m. yesterday when LPD responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. and found three men with gunshot wounds. All were transported to the hospital with injuries LPD described as non-life-threatening. This afternoon, as police were investigating, a report came in that individuals involved in the shooting were back in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. LPD said officers responded and detained two individuals. So far, Sylvanus Massaquoi,  a 19-year-old Sterling resident, has been arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. Stafford man charged with 8th DUI & child endangerment

A crash resulted in the arrest of a 68-year-old Stafford man who was hit with a list of charges including his 8th DUI. On Tuesday, shortly before 9 p.m., Stafford deputy S.A. Edwards was dispatched to an area near Warrenton and Poplar roads where there was an accident involving a Fauquier County Ambulance and a Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe was driven by Homer Calvin Maxey who had “bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to consuming two twelve-ounce beers prior to driving,” SCSO reported. In the vehicle, police reportedly found four empty beer cans and a 9-year-old in the back seat without a seatbelt. The child was not injured and was turned over to a family member, SCSO stated.
