VADOC: Gun, drugs & police chase amid Indian Creek CC interdiction operation

Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) announced there were three arrests and nine denied visits amid an “intensive interdiction operation” at Indian Creek Correctional Center in Chesapeake. Yesterday, VADOC revealed that, on March 30, they partnered with Virginia State Police and Chesapeake Police Department for an intensive operation to screen visitors for drugs and other contraband. Items found during the searches, include drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, syringes, and three handguns, VADOC stated. Retail theft crews from NJ & NY get busted in Fairfax, VA

In less than a week, Tyson’s Urban Team, aka TUT, made two busts of individuals they describe as members of organized theft crews. During those incidents, the accused were reportedly caught with tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise. May 8 arrests On May 8, TUT detectives reportedly received word of a retail theft crew in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in Tysons. When they located the men, police found over $24,000 in merchandise, and most of it was Victoria’s Secret underwear, said Fairfax PD’s Public Affairs Bureau. A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged for the murder of another 16-year-old. According to Virginia Beach Police Department, the incident occurred in the afternoon on Tuesday. 2 Charged with Murder in Norfolk After ‘Homicide’ Ruling for Infant Death

A pair in Norfolk are facing murder charges after the death of a 9-day-old baby, Norfolk Police announced. On Saturday, around 1:15 p.m., NPD was called to the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters for a child protection call. When officers arrived, the baby was already unresponsive and later the infant was pronounced dead, the department stated. Hilary D. Johnson, 23, and Zibreyea S. Parker, 21, were taken into custody and initially charged with child abuse. Then, on May 6, the medical examiner ruled the baby’s death was a homicide. A 27-year-old man arrested Saturday is still being held without bond after allegedly initiating a police chase, ramming vehicles, and assaulting a state trooper. According to Virginia State Police, the incident stemmed from motorists on I-81 calling in and reporting a Dodge pickup driving recklessly and someone throwing objects out of the window. Gloucester man prompts Sheriff to issue shelter-in-place alert

Yesterday, a 32-year-old Gloucester man on the loose prompted the Sheriff’s Office to issue a lockdown alert for people in certain areas of the county. Around 11 a.m. GCSO released a photo of Robert Paul Rosell Jr. stating he was believed to be on foot and considered armed and dangerous. People in the area of Lowneyville Lane and Pinetta Road were asked to shelter in place. Until now, GCSO hasn't provided details about the incident that caused them to hunt for Rosell, but, in an update amid the search, police revealed that Rosell was wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and brandishing a firearm. 18-year-old from Virginia Beach arrested for gun at Gloucester High School

Gloucester High School went into lockdown Tuesday, and two men were arrested in connection with the incident. According to a statement from Gloucester County Public Schools (GCPS), the lockdown was put in place around 11 a.m. in response to a report of a weapon outside in a construction area. In addition to the school resources officers, a larger presence from Gloucester County Sheriff’s officers arrived and had the scene secured within minutes, according to GCSO.
