No bond for Knoxville man charged with DUI in fatal Frederick County crash

No bond was granted for the Knoxville, TN man charged amid a fatal DUI crash in Frederick County on Monday. Virginia State Police said they responded to the scene on I-81 at the 316 mile marker shortly before 11 p.m. Troopers found a 2018 Toyota Highlander reportedly driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Bireta was traveling north on I-81 when it ran off the left side of the road into the median. The Highlander flipped several time, and when it came to a rest, it was in the southbound lanes, VSP reported. A 2019 Nissan Rogue that was heading southbound collided with the Highlander, and the driver of the Rogue, 60-year-old William F. Allison of Martinsburg, WV died at the scene. Westmoreland woman goes missing, Tappahannock man arrested for murder

A 20-year-old Tappahannock man who was wanted for 1st degree murder was arrested at a convenience store in Tappahannock. Kearrah T. Chappell, a 21-year-old Westmoreland woman was reported missing on April 1st. The last sighting of her was around 9 p.m. that day at her home, according to information from Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. Wednesday night, around 11:15 p.m., a body matching her description was found in the 300 block of Welford’s Wharf Rd. in Richmond County, which neighbors Westmoreland, announced Richmond County Sheriff Stephan Smith. MS-13 gang inmates stab and kill K-9 in Sussex I

MS-13 gang members stabbed and killed K-9 Rivan while the dog was responding to an attack at Sussex I State Prison, VADOC announced. On Tuesday, April 2, three “verified members of MS-13” housed at Sussex I “viciously attacked another inmate,” while a fourth inmate appeared to be supervising the attack, VADOC stated. Officer Kharmishia Phillip Fields, a trained K-9 handler, and Rivan were working the area and responded to the incident to stop the attack. An investigation involving a stolen vehicle in Shenandoah County led to the discovery of what appears to be a double murder in Manassas. Prince William calls On Tuesday, April 2, at 12:45 a.m., Prince William County Police received two calls. One was for a report of a man with a gun in the area of 8100 block of Porter Ridge Ln. in Manassas, said PWCPD. The other call was a 61-year-old man who reported he was carjacked in the 8100 block of Portwood Turn in Manassas. A 33-year-old Blue Ridge man has been charged with the murder of a 5-year-old boy last summer. 911 call On August 2, 2023, shortly after 10 p.m., Botetourt Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive child. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene in the 2900 block of Blue Ridge Springs Rd. and found there was a young boy who was indeed unresponsive. Davis is a Tier 3 sex offense who status is currently listed as “absconder” and VSP said he is wanted on 4 counts of failing to re-register as a sex offender. Davis last reported address is 8100 Wilderness Woods Lane in Rhoadesville, which is located in Orange County. Alexandria Police capture NC homicide suspect

A 53-year-old Charlotte man wanted in connection with a Huntersville, NC homicide was captured in Alexandria and is awaiting extradition. On Tuesday, March 19, Huntersville Police reported that officers responded to a scene where a woman was said to be unresponsive in a vehicle on Hylas Lane. The responding officers found the woman, 55-year-old Sureita Angelia Samuels of Huntersville, had been shot, and she was pronounced dead. College Park, MD man hit with +20 charges after Virginia police chase

A College Park, MD man is in jail in Fairfax  facing a list of charges after allegedly leading Virginia state troopers on a police chase. The incident occurred Sunday, March 17. State troopers had been alerted that a stolen vehicle may pass along Rt. 1 in Fairfax. As warned, a state trooper spotted the stolen vehicle at about 3:40 a.m. and activated his emergency lights and siren with plans to conduct a traffic stop, VSP reported. But the car, a gray sedan, refused to stop, sped off, and a police chase ensued. Leesburg PD seeking info on bank robbery suspect

Leesburg Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in a bank robbery. The suspect is reportedly a black male believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35. He’s about 5’8 and described as a having a medium build. According to LPD, the robbery occurred at the Truist bank located at 1007 Edwards Free Rd. NE on October 2 at 3:32 p.m. LPD said the suspect was wearing a black Nike shirt, black pants with a white pattern and black shoes. He also had on a cross necklace and baseball cap.
