Search for suspect underway after woman sexually assaulted in Alexandria

The Alexandria Police Department has detectives in the field today in the vicinity of an alleged sexual assault that occurred overnight. According to APD, a woman was walking in the area of Mount Vernon and Commonwealth Avenue after midnight. A stranger attacked her, assaulted her, and, as of this morning, she was still being treated at local hospital, police say. Detectives are slated to spend today canvassing the area and talking to members of the community. Man facing fentanyl terrorism charge after Fredericksburg raid

Another incident has led to more charges for 24-year-old Jaquan Mincy of Fredericksburg. On Tuesday, at about 6:30 in the morning, the Fredericksburg Police Department’s Special Equipment Tactical Team executed a search warrant on an apartment in the 600 block of Greenbrier Court. FPD said action was taken with the expectation of finding illegal drugs. Inside, FPD said authorities reportedly found over 800 pressed fentanyl pills, approximately 300 grams of marijuana, over $10,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia. Mincy was arrested and charged with possession, manufacture, or distribution of a weapon of terrorism containing fentanyl and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. Hoping for leniency after shooting a man during a weed robbery, 19-year-old Brycen Scott Beal of Newport News, wrote a letter to U.S. District Judge Raymond A. Jackson stating he was “reading books, “studying the Bible for spiritual growth” and wanted to get married. Beal pled guilty to charges linked to a broad daylight shooting and was sentenced on February 13, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) announced. 40-year-old Woodbridge twins alleged shoplifting attempt leads to drug charge

A set of 40-year-old twins from Woodbridge was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly committing a brazen act of shoplifting. According to Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputy R.L. Hubbard and deputy S.A. Hensley were dispatched to the Walmart at 11 Village Parkway around 5:30 p.m. for a report of two males who were allegedly walking out of the store with unpaid merchandise. The deputies found the pair in Lidl parking lot, and they had shopping carts, SCSO reported. A fentanyl distribution investigation in Caroline led to the arrest of two women, and one of them is facing terror charges. Caroline Sheriff’s Office reported that its narcotics investigators were conducting an investigation that led to a search warrant for 7414 Rylands Rd. in Woodford. On Thursday, February 8, the Special Emergency Response Team along with deputies and narcotics investigators executed that warrant. After months of investigation, the Star City Drug and Violent Crime Task Force seized a large quantity of drugs from a home in Roanoke and arrested “a dangerous drug dealer,” Roanoke Police Department reported. A 44-year-old Ashburn woman is accused of going on quite a porch-raiding spree last fall. According to Leesburg Police Department, on Friday Nov 17, someone reported that a white woman with blonde hair had snatched a package that had just been delivered on Nivens Court SW. The package snatcher was driving a white colored sedan, LPD was told.
