Driver identified & 2nd arrest made for fatal hit-and-run crash in Henrico

Henrico Police announced the 2nd arrest linked to the fatal March 22 hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Airport Drive and Audubon Drive. What allegedly began as a high-speed chase in New Kent ended with the crash in Henrico claiming the life Luis Fernando Cac Caal, 29, of Sandston. On the evening of May 19, Samarion Ty’shon Seymour, 20, of Norfolk, turned himself into the Petersburg Bureau of Police. During the course of the investigation, Henrico Police and investigators from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office determined Seymour was the driver of the Cadillac CTS that crashed killing Cac Caal. Three men from Warsaw arrested last month for burglaries in Westmoreland County are now facing burglary charges in Gloucester. Gloucester County Sheriff's Office reported that on April 3, 2025, deputies responded to a residential burglary on Woods Cross Road. Investigators found evidence of forced entry into the home. According to the GCSO, the investigation quickly gained traction when a witness reported a suspicious vehicle in their driveway around the time of the burglary. Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) announced the release of the final two correctional officers hospitalized following a brutal stabbing incident at Wallens Ridge State Prison. The violent assault, described by officials as "apparently premeditated," unfolded around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 2nd. A total of five VADOC officers were transported for outside medical treatment. Fredericksburg Police Dept. got an unlikely break in a 2017 investigation. The Rappahannock Canal was drained recently, and on April 27, a firearm was uncovered in the drained section, FPD said. The gun was rusted, heavily damaged, and the serial number was “deliberately obliterated.” Detectives Mejia and Dobson went to work examining the gun and used advanced restoration techniques to recover the serial number. Authorities are calling on the public for help as they pursue leads in the murder of a 19-year-old who was fatally shot Saturday night in Alexandria. The victim, identified as Deaundre Jack, was a resident of Alexandria. According to the Alexandria Police Department (APD), Jack was found in the parking lot of the Canterbury Square apartment complex suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 10:15 p.m. on April 19.
