Bedford investigation leads to $247K drug seizure in Roanoke

What began as an investigation into fentanyl-laced meth and heroin in Bedford led to an arrest and seizure in Roanoke, Virginia State Police reported. Special agents involved in the Bedford investigation began tracking a suspect, leading them to a location in the 2400 block of Broadway Ave. SW in Roanoke, where he was reportedly operating. Henrico Police announced the 2nd arrest linked to the fatal March 22 hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Airport Drive and Audubon Drive. What allegedly began as a high-speed chase in New Kent ended with the crash in Henrico claiming the life Luis Fernando Cac Caal, 29, of Sandston. On the evening of May 19, Samarion Ty’shon Seymour, 20, of Norfolk, turned himself into the Petersburg Bureau of Police. During the course of the investigation, Henrico Police and investigators from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office determined Seymour was the driver of the Cadillac CTS that crashed killing Cac Caal. Three men from Warsaw arrested last month for burglaries in Westmoreland County are now facing burglary charges in Gloucester. Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) announced the release of the final two correctional officers hospitalized following a brutal stabbing incident at Wallens Ridge State Prison. Surprise Lead: Fredericksburg Police get gun linked to 2017 case

Fredericksburg Police Dept. got an unlikely break in a 2017 investigation. The Rappahannock Canal was drained recently, and on April 27, a firearm was uncovered in the drained section, FPD said. The gun was rusted, heavily damaged, and the serial number was “deliberately obliterated.” Detectives Mejia and Dobson went to work examining the gun and used advanced restoration techniques to recover the serial number.
