Virginia State Police released select details but left many unfilled blanks in the report of a traffic stop that turned into a 16-year-old getting shot in an "officer-involved shooting." According to VSP, on April 29, Fairfax City Police attempted to make a traffic stop near Burke Station Road and Main Street, but “the suspect vehicle” fled the scene. A state trooper was notified at approximately 12:43 a.m. VSP did not provide any details about the vehicle or provide a reason for the traffic stop. Police seeking tips for fatal shooting of 19-year-old in Alexandria

Authorities are calling on the public for help as they pursue leads in the murder of a 19-year-old who was fatally shot Saturday night in Alexandria. The victim, identified as Deaundre Jack, was a resident of Alexandria. According to the Alexandria Police Department (APD), Jack was found in the parking lot of the Canterbury Square apartment complex suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 10:15 p.m. on April 19. Responding officers began life-saving measures immediately upon arrival, but Jack succumbed to his injuries after Alexandria Fire Department medics took over care. Virginia State troopers were injured in two separate police pursuits last weekend. On Friday, April 12, around 2:30 p.m. Chesapeake Police Department was advised of a police pursuit coming their way that originated in Elizabeth City, NC. Chesapeake PD said they were informed the suspect had already hit an Elizabeth City police vehicle. Chesapeake PD, in turn, reached out to Virginia State Police. When the Lexus RX350 crossed into Chesapeake, Chesapeake Police joined the pursuit and reported successfully deploying spike strips. Alexandria, VA man facing attempted murder for Maryland road rage shooting

An Alexandria, VA man is facing attempted murder and a list of other charged stemming from an alleged case of road rage. On Thursday, April 3, Maryland State Police responded to a report of a shooting on Route 5 in near Burch Hill Road in Prince George’s County.  The victim, who was uninjured, reported that a driver in a 2023 black Ford Explorer with Michigan tags shot at him. MSP said that driver was determined to be 46-year-old Marco Williams. A US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Williams in Fairfax on April 9. Zeon Detwan Garner was sentenced for the 3-person shooting that occurred on May 30 in the the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg. That evening, Garner was with his mother and sister, and they encountered three people in the courtyard of the apartment complex. According to Leesburg Commonwealth’s Attorney Office, Garner had an ongoing issue with one of those individuals, and one of them allegedly brandished a firearm as Garner passed with his family. Authorities are searching for the door an airplane that was reportedly ripped off causing an emergency landing. Alexandria Police Department said officers responded to a call of an unresponsive woman in the 900 block of Beverley Drive—a residential neighborhood—and found Aber, 43, was dead.
