Leesburg man stopped for public intoxication hit with drug & gun charges

Appearing to be intoxicated landed a Leesburg man in jail facing several drug and gun charges. According to Leesburg Police Department, officers were in the 75 Plaza Street NE area at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday conducting foot patrol when they encountered 28-year-old Nicholas T. Roach, who “appeared to be under the influence.” LPD said Roach was placed under arrest for public intoxication. 3 shot in Leesburg, Sterling man arrested

One arrest has been made for the Thursday evening shooting that sent three men to the hospital, Leesburg Police Department announced. It was around 7:48 p.m. yesterday when LPD responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. and found three men with gunshot wounds. All were transported to the hospital with injuries LPD described as non-life-threatening. This afternoon, as police were investigating, a report came in that individuals involved in the shooting were back in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. LPD said officers responded and detained two individuals. So far, Sylvanus Massaquoi,  a 19-year-old Sterling resident, has been arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. Stafford man charged with 8th DUI & child endangerment

A crash resulted in the arrest of a 68-year-old Stafford man who was hit with a list of charges including his 8th DUI. On Tuesday, shortly before 9 p.m., Stafford deputy S.A. Edwards was dispatched to an area near Warrenton and Poplar roads where there was an accident involving a Fauquier County Ambulance and a Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe was driven by Homer Calvin Maxey who had “bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to consuming two twelve-ounce beers prior to driving,” SCSO reported. In the vehicle, police reportedly found four empty beer cans and a 9-year-old in the back seat without a seatbelt. The child was not injured and was turned over to a family member, SCSO stated. At only 27 years old, Najee Lewis, aka Bebo, of Stafford was hit with another federal prison sentence today. In 2014, Prince William Circuit Court sentenced Lewis for two robberies committed two days apart. Seven years of his 10-year sentence was suspended, and he was released in May 2018, court records show. Less than four months after his release for the robbery charges, Lewis was caught with a 9mm Ruger displayed in a music video on YouTube, That firearm was reported stolen in 2018 and was recovered in October 2019, documents from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) show. Virginia ABC is holding a grand opening ceremony today, May 29, for its new store at 825 S. Washington St. in Alexandria. This new VA ABC location, Store 119, is in the South Washington Street Shopping Center. According to the Authority, it’s 3,700-square-foot store and will offer more than 1,500 different products. A 22-year-old Stafford man who was wanted for murder charges in Maryland was arrested yesterday in a joint operation between Stafford County Sheriff's Office and Prince George's County Police Department's Fugitive Unit. On Sunday, May 19, at around 1:45 a.m., PGPD said its officers responded to a shopping center parking lot in the 6400 block of Marlboro Pike where there was a car meet. The officers found 26-year-old John Phipps of Waldorf, MD in a vehicle suffering from gunshots. He was pronounced dead a short time later, PGPD stated. Leesburg Police Department announced arrests in two daytime robbery- assault cases that occurred within about 24 hours. Last Friday, at about 5:22 p.m., LPD said officers reported to the Sheetz at 915 Edwards Ferry Road NE, where “an area man” reported that a known male assaulted him, took his cell phone, and ran off. LPD said officers canvassed the area and found the suspect in the unit block of Plaza Street NE but when he saw police, he ran. In less than a week, Tyson’s Urban Team, aka TUT, made two busts of individuals they describe as members of organized theft crews. During those incidents, the accused were reportedly caught with tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise. May 8 arrests On May 8, TUT detectives reportedly received word of a retail theft crew in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in Tysons. Dog & wife stabbed, suspect shot in Herndon

A woman and dog were stabbed in Herndon, and the man accused of wielding the knife was shot.
