Leesburg Police Department announced arrests in two daytime robbery- assault cases that occurred within about 24 hours. Last Friday, at about 5:22 p.m., LPD said officers reported to the Sheetz at 915 Edwards Ferry Road NE, where “an area man” reported that a known male assaulted him, took his cell phone, and ran off. LPD said officers canvassed the area and found the suspect in the unit block of Plaza Street NE but when he saw police, he ran. That suspect, Fidel Ordonez Molina, an 18-year-old from Leesburg, was caught after a short foot chase, LPD reported. In less than a week, Tyson’s Urban Team, aka TUT, made two busts of individuals they describe as members of organized theft crews. During those incidents, the accused were reportedly caught with tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise. May 8 arrests On May 8, TUT detectives reportedly received word of a retail theft crew in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in Tysons. When they located the men, police found over $24,000 in merchandise, and most of it was Victoria’s Secret underwear, said Fairfax PD’s Public Affairs Bureau. The merchandise was connected to thefts that occurred in Prince William County, the Public Affairs Bureau noted. A 53-year-old Leesburg, VA man is facing a list of charges after an incident where he allegedly tried use his vehicle to hit a vehicle carrying children. Leesburg Police Department said its officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Anne Street SW on Wednesday around 6 p.m. A male, later identified as Allen Kenneth Shreve, III, was reportedly following another vehicle attempting to strike it with his, police stated. After arriving, police determined that in the midst of this incident, at one point, Shreve blocked the victim’s vehicle preventing free passage. The driver tried to get away by driving across "multiple lawns," and according to LPD, Shreve pursued the vehicle, which in addition to the adult, was carrying two children.
