3 shot in Leesburg, Sterling man arrested

One arrest has been made for the Thursday evening shooting that sent three men to the hospital, Leesburg Police Department announced. It was around 7:48 p.m. yesterday when LPD responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. and found three men with gunshot wounds. All were transported to the hospital with injuries LPD described as non-life-threatening. This afternoon, as police were investigating, a report came in that individuals involved in the shooting were back in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Rd. LPD said officers responded and detained two individuals. So far, Sylvanus Massaquoi,  a 19-year-old Sterling resident, has been arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center with no bond, LPD reported. ...

Richmond man found dead in Caroline County, Investigation underway

Federal authorities are working with Caroline Sheriff’s Office on the investigation of a Richmond man found dead last Sunday, May 26. A “startled citizen” called 911 at 11:47 that morning to report finding a dead person in a wooded area along Sparta Rd. near the intersection of Tignor Rd, Caroline Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies confirmed the death and Caroline forensic investigators along with personnel from the Chief Medical Examiner ‘s Office examined and processed the scene. “Investigators determined that the man likely died as the result of several gunshot wounds,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. Virginia State Police has released additional information about 38-year-old Jason Fragale amid an continued effort to get the public to provide any information they may have. Last month, VSP and Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement issued a joint statement noting that Fragale has been linked to Leesburg, VA and Kissimmee, FL. He is facing 10 felony warrants in Loudoun County, VA. Half are for possession of child porn and half are for reproduction of child porn. According to the statement, a cyber tip was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators then tracked the IP address to Fragale's Leesburg residence. A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged for the murder of another 16-year-old. According to Virginia Beach Police Department, the incident occurred in the afternoon on Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Bryce Ln., a residential area lined with townhomes. Cedar Samuel Smith, a 10-month-old baby, was featured in an Amber Alert earlier this week. According to the alert, which was circulated on behalf of the sheriff’s office in Scott County, VA, the missing baby was last seen on Daniel Boone Rd. in Gate City. A twin-engine plane that left Manassas Regional Airport Sunday morning crashed in Fluvanna killing the pilot and his passenger. According to Virginia State Police, shortly before 9 a.m., 911 calls started coming in from residents in the 200 block of Miles Jackson Rd. in Palmyra. They reported a low-flying plane and noise described as sounding like an explosion. The Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office, Virginia Conservation Police, and VSP responded to the area to search for wreckage. USDA is urging shoppers who bought certain batches of ground beef to throw it away or return it to the store where it was purchased. Cargill Meat Solutions recalled over 16,000 pounds of raw ground beef due to possible E.coli contamination. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Cargill reported the issue claiming that “previously segregated product had been inadvertently utilized in the production of ground beef.” The affected ground beef was produced on April 26-27 and sold at Walmart, the USDA stated. FSIS said the items were shipped to Walmart locations nationwide. CBS MoneyWatch said Cargill told them the meat was shipped to 13 states. Gloucester man prompts Sheriff to issue shelter-in-place alert

Yesterday, a 32-year-old Gloucester man on the loose prompted the Sheriff’s Office to issue a lockdown alert for people in certain areas of the county. Around 11 a.m. GCSO released a photo of Robert Paul Rosell Jr. stating he was believed to be on foot and considered armed and dangerous. People in the area of Lowneyville Lane and Pinetta Road were asked to shelter in place. Until now, GCSO hasn't provided details about the incident that caused them to hunt for Rosell, but, in an update amid the search, police revealed that Rosell was wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and brandishing a firearm. Franklin, VA man wanted for robbery, police trying to identify 2 others

Southampton police are looking for 24-year-old Dalveon Ricks of Franklin who is wanted for charges related to an April 4 robbery in Courtland. Police responded to a robbery call in the 25000 block of Oak Trail and found a woman who reported getting robbed in the parking lot of the apartment complex by three men. SCSO said the victim’s purse, credit cards, and cash were stolen.
