Alexandria Police capture NC homicide suspect

A 53-year-old Charlotte man wanted in connection with a Huntersville, NC homicide was captured in Alexandria and is awaiting extradition. On Tuesday, March 19, Huntersville Police reported that officers responded to a scene where a woman was said to be unresponsive in a vehicle on Hylas Lane. The responding officers found the woman, 55-year-old Sureita Angelia Samuels of Huntersville, had been shot, and she was pronounced dead. Witnesses reportedly told HPD they heard gunshots then saw a Black man get out of Samuels’ car immediately afterward. They reported that the man got into a black Dodge Ram and left. College Park, MD man hit with +20 charges after Virginia police chase

A College Park, MD man is in jail in Fairfax  facing a list of charges after allegedly leading Virginia state troopers on a police chase. The incident occurred Sunday, March 17. State troopers had been alerted that a stolen vehicle may pass along Rt. 1 in Fairfax. As warned, a state trooper spotted the stolen vehicle at about 3:40 a.m. and activated his emergency lights and siren with plans to conduct a traffic stop, VSP reported. But the car, a gray sedan, refused to stop, sped off, and a police chase ensued. Leesburg PD seeking info on bank robbery suspect

Leesburg Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in a bank robbery. The suspect is reportedly a black male believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35. He’s about 5’8 and described as a having a medium build. According to LPD, the robbery occurred at the Truist bank located at 1007 Edwards Free Rd. NE on October 2 at 3:32 p.m. LPD said the suspect was wearing a black Nike shirt, black pants with a white pattern and black shoes. He also had on a cross necklace and baseball cap. 18-year-old leads police chase, hits 3 vehicles in Fairfax

Virginia State Police announced an investigation into an 18-year-old who was reportedly involved in a police pursuit and a three-vehicle crash in Fairfax. The incident started around 11:19 p.m on Thursday, March 14, when, according to VSP, they attempted to stop a speeding grey Honda Odyssey heading westbound on I-495. When police initially attempted the stop, the Odyssey was approaching I-95 South. The minivan reportedly refused to stop, and the pursuit initiated. According to VSP, amid the chase, the Odyssey struck an unspecified vehicle near the exit for Route 1 but didn’t stop. According to LPD, the body was discovered in the pond behind Park Gate Drive SE by a community member around 4:30 p.m. on March 11. That pond is nestled in a residential community and circled by a trail. Fatal crashes in Virginia are stacking up, and reports continue rolling in of the numerous deadly incidents that occurred in recent days. As previously reported, on Sunday, two pedestrians were killed in separate incidents in Fairfax near the same exit. Brunswick truck crash VSP reported that, on Friday, around 9:30 a.m. 52-year-old John Oliver Harrison of Lawrenceville was headed north on Rt. 46 in Brunswick County. He was near Woodley Ave. in a tractor-trailer loaded with lumber. Harrison reportedly ran off the road and struck a group of trees. John Raff, a 42-year-old Perryville, MD man, was extradited to Virginia twice in connection with a case involving him soliciting someone he believed to be a minor. This month, he was finally sentenced. Raff’s charges date back a decade. Amid an investigation by Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. Suspect in Brooklyn crimes killed in Virginia Beach police chase

The man killed last week in a Virginia Beach crash during a police chase was from New York. He was driving a stolen vehicle and was listed as a suspect in a violent crime that occurred the day he died, VSP announced. The police chase began last Friday, February 23, just shy of 8:30 p.m. State Police attempted to stop a 2024 black Chevrolet pickup truck for reckless driving because the vehicle was reportedly going 92 mph in a 55 mph zone. The truck was heading south on Rt. 13 in Exmore, a town on the Eastern Shore, and refused to stop, VSP stated.
